Well, this is some coming together of styles, influences and backgrounds. Having won the German Eurovision nomination way back in 2010 (and again in 2011), Hanover's Lena went on to judge on The Voice and release a string of albums to varying levels of acclaim. So far, you'd never guess that her new single 'Catapult' would feature one of the UK's hottest new rappers in Little Simz - the woman backed by everyone from Kendrick Lamar to Mos Def. Simz's verse is the star of the show here, adding a bit of wallop with her slick, direct flow tapering around some exquisite pop production. As well as fellow German Kat Vinter, who also features on 'Catapult', Lena's latest album Crystal Sky features co-writes from Norway's fastest-rising teen songwriter AURORA, and believe it or not, Preston from The Ordinary Boys.
